Award Application


Introduction
To promote awareness for environmentally responsible initiatives among coater and non-coater members, NCCA's Government Relations Committee created the Pollution Prevention Award recognizing success in minimizing the generation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

The awards program encourages information sharing and further raises the level of commitment to implementing environmentally sound and superior programs.

Rules and Regulations
In order to be considered for the award, the application must be submitted to the NCCA Headquarters on or before July 1. The award will consist of:

  1. a plaque
  2. publicity in a trade association and / or environmental publication.

Award Guidelines

  • The submitters are free to resubmit the same concept as many times as they want. The application should be updated as appropriate.

  • The submitter’s application will only be considered if a complete application is received.

  • The submitter may collaborate with other organizations to jointly apply for the award.

  • A representative from a company submitting an application cannot serve as a judge.

Judging Criteria
Judges will review applications based on the following criteria:

  • Originality / innovation
  • Weight reduction
  • Economics
  • Energy reduction
  • Toxicity reduction / safety

With respect to eligibility questions, and with respect to selecting the winners, the decisions of the judges are final.

Application Concepts
The application shall emphasize one or more of the following:

  • Product reformulations
  • Process improvements
  • Material substitutions
  • New equipment installations
  • Incentive programs
  • Energy savings programs
  • Comprehensive waste minimization programs

Submission Deadline
In order to be considered for the award, the application must be submitted to NCCA Headquarters on or before July 1.

Publicity
